Is there a Lebara referral code to type in?+
No — and that trips a lot of people up. Lebara’s Refer & Earn scheme is link-based, run through Aklamio. There’s no code to enter; you just open a referral link and the 50% off discount is applied automatically at checkout. Check it shows on the order summary before you pay.
What do I get with a Lebara referral link?+
As a new customer you get 50% off for 3 months on your chosen SIM-only plan. After 3 months the plan moves to its standard price (and you can cancel any time — Lebara is no-contract).
How much does the person who refers me earn?+
The referrer gets a cash reward of up to £50 (it scales with the plan you pick), paid to their bank or PayPal — not account credit. That’s why it’s a win-win: you save 50% off, they get a small thank-you from Lebara. We’re upfront about it.
Is the Lebara refer-a-friend scheme legit?+
Yes — it’s Lebara’s official Refer & Earn programme, powered by Aklamio (the same platform many big brands use). The link takes you to Lebara’s own website where you sign up directly with them. You never share anything with us.
When does the referral reward arrive?+
For you (the friend), the 50% off discount applies immediately at checkout. The referrer’s cash reward is paid within about 60 days, after you’ve activated your SIM and stayed active through the qualifying period — so it’s deliberately not instant for the referrer.
Why isn’t my Lebara discount showing at checkout?+
Usual causes: you’re not opening the referral link directly (open it fresh, then pick your plan), you’re not a new customer, you picked a non-qualifying product, or cookies/ad-blockers stripped the tracking. Start again from the referral link, choose a SIM-only plan, and confirm the 50% off shows before paying.
Do I have to be a new Lebara customer?+
Yes — the 50% off new-customer discount is for people joining Lebara for the first time. Existing customers don’t qualify, but they can grab their own link from the Refer & Earn dashboard and start earning cash by referring others.
What network does Lebara use and is the coverage good?+
Lebara runs on the Vodafone network, with around 98% UK population coverage and 5G included at no extra cost on compatible phones. It’s the same masts as Vodafone — just cheaper.
Can I keep my current phone number?+
Yes. Text PAC to 65075 from your current SIM, get your PAC code, and give it to Lebara when you join — your number transfers across, usually within one working day, with no loss of service.
What makes Lebara good for international calls?+
It’s Lebara’s whole reason for being. SIM-only plans include calls to 50+ countries at no extra cost (allowances scale by plan), with low rates to many more and International Call Passes available. Always check your specific destination’s current allowance on lebara.co.uk.
Is there a limit on how many people I can refer?+
Referrals appear to be uncapped, so referrers can keep earning cash for each new friend who joins and stays active. (Confirm the current terms on Lebara’s Refer & Earn page.)
Can the referrer withdraw the reward to PayPal?+
Yes — Lebara’s reward is cash, withdrawable to a UK bank account or PayPal from the Refer & Earn dashboard once it’s been approved (after the ~60-day qualifying window).
Does Lebara need a credit check or a UK bank account?+
Lebara’s SIM-only plans are no-contract and generally need no credit check, which makes them popular with students and recent arrivals. You will need a UK payment method to pay for the plan.
Can I get free EU roaming with Lebara?+
Yes — all plans include EU roaming so you can use your allowance across around 36 European destinations at no extra cost (a fair-use data cap applies on unlimited plans). Always check current roaming terms before you travel.
